Make a Hexagon Needle Book and a Hexagon Tape Measure Cover - Saturday 15th February 2025 10am - 4pm
In this class I will introduce you to the world of miniature patchwork! We will use tiny, 1/2" hexiform hexagons to create a beautiful, hand stitched hexagon needle book and we will use even tinier 1/4" hexagons to make a hand stitched tape measure cover. The perfect set! This class is suitable for people who have never hand sewn before as full instruction will be given.
We will begin the day at 10am with a welcome introduction, drinks and biscuits. Next we will discuss the English paper piecing method of patchwork and talk about glue basting and using hexiform rather than paper.
We will make our hexagon flowers using Liberty fabrics and we will hand sew our needle books. You will learn EPP, applique and hand sewing techniques as well as how to add some embroidery details.
At 12pm we will break for an afternoon tea style lunch. A menu will be sent to you ahead of time so you can choose what you would like as well as let me know of any allergies and dietary requirements.
After lunch we will tackle tiny 1/4" hexagons and make two tiny flowers for our tape measure covers. We will then stitch our covers together onto a lovely, retractable tape measure.
The day will conclude at 4pm and you can take your finished items away with you with a wonderful feeling of satisfaction that you have made two lovely things completely by hand.
Classes will be a maximum of 6 people to ensure maximum attention.
Classes are held at my studio in Skelmersdale Lancashire. Classes are for over 18s only. Please note that my studio is on the top floor which requires walking up two flights of stairs and regrettably there is no wheelchair access and no lift. Free parking onsite.
During your visit there will also be the opportunity to look through the items I sell in my shop and to make a purchase if you would like to. Card payment preferred.

Cancellation Policy
In the extremely unlikely event that I need to cancel the class, a full refund for the class will be given but I will not be able to compensate any transport and accommodation costs arranged by you.
If you need to cancel the class after booking, 50% of the cost of the class will be refunded unless I am able to fill your place, and in that case, a full refund will be given. Thank you for your understanding.
