My name is Emma Jones and I love sewing! I love all kinds of sewing too, from quilting to embroidery, cross stitch to needlepoint, dressmaking to making toys. If it involves a needle and thread then I love it! Over the past few years, my love of English Paper Piecing and embroidery has grown into a full blown addiction so I write a lot about that on my blog and post about it regularly on Instagram.
I have been sewing, crafting and making things since I was five and I am really passionate about inspiring people to take up the creative arts as a hobby. I have experienced how beneficial sewing can be for wellbeing and mental health and I want to encourage others to give it a go. When I became a mum, I left my career in primary school teaching with the idea of combining my love of teaching with my passion for sewing and I started this website. A few years later I started a Youtube channel to spread the joy of sewing even further and this year I launched a Patreon page too.
On my website you will find my blog which is the place where I share what I'm currently making, my thoughts, feelings and ideas about sewing, as well as step by step tutorials. There is also a pattern page which is where you can download printable patterns so you can make the things I have designed. The video tutorial page is a place where I can show you how to do different techniques in an easy to understand format. Here I show you how to do different embroidery stitches as well as English Paper Piecing techniques.
Recently I started an online shop where I sell everything you need for hand sewing. I have carefully selected my favourite needles, threads and other notions. I only sell things I love and use myself, so you can be sure they are of a really high quality. I also sell kits to make some of my patterns. I love the haberdashery shops of the past, and I want to create this feel with my shop. So you will find items that have vintage style packaging and when you receive your package in the post, it will be lovingly wrapped by me. My shop and my patterns support me and allow me to continue sharing content both here, on Instagram and on Youtube too.
I hope you enjoy browsing my website and that it inspires you to get making. Please check back regularly as the website continues to grow with new content being added often. Follow me on Instagram for daily updates and on Youtube too!
