I am super excited to introduce to you Whimsical Windows 2025 Mini Quilt of the Month.
This year’s block of the month mini quilts are inspired by childhood tales and the British countryside, two of my favourite things. As a child, I loved spending time engrossed in the illustrations of Beatrix Potter or Jill Barklem, so they have inspired this series of mini quilts.
I named the series “whimsical windows” because each mini quilt is designed to be a little window, either looking out over the countryside or into a little creature’s woodland home. Each mini quilt will be double layered and the design will have elements on both layers to add depth to the quilt. Once finished, they are the perfect item to hang each month as they are seasonal and reflect the month in which they are made. Each month the patterns are created using a combination of embroidery, appliqué and hand stitching. The patterns are there for you to print off and trace onto your fabric, or you can buy fabric panels from my shop if you wish. There are basic instructions in the instruction booklet but the detailed instructions are in the videos each month, in which I show you how I create my version. The beauty of the design is that you can mix it up, my instructions are just a suggestion. So if you would like to do more embroidery and leave out the appliqué, you can definitely do that and make the design your own.
There are two places you can find the patterns each month. The first is over on Patreon in the Jewel Flower tier. In there, you will get all of the benefits of being a Jewel Flower patron plus access to the pattern, downloads and any videos for that month's design. Patreon is a subscription service but you can cancel at any time.
The other option is to purchase the patterns individually in my pattern shop and they will be available there all year round so you can pick and choose which ones you want. The benefit of joining Patreon is that there will be 3 surprise patterns linked to the block of the month throughout the year, exclusive to Patreon, as well as the other content I put out on Patreon.
There are also additional things you can buy such as fabric panels and quilt hangers, but the video below should explain everything in detail. If you have any further questions please do get in touch, you can email me on [email protected]
