High quality cotton embroidery thread, made in France. They come in 4 separable strands and can be used like any other embroidery floss. They are however slightly finer than DMC's stranded cotton. The threads are presented on cards with approximately 20 meters of thread on each card.

For ecological reasons Retor du Nord threads are not colour fast, although they can be washed up to 40 degrees- just be careful never to use boiling water or bleach. Making a colour fast thread involves using highly pollutant treatments, which Sajou finds unjustified for embroidery purposes. I have tested the thread and it is lovely and the colour does not bleed when using cold water to wash out your water erasable markings. I use this thread for decorative purposes and things that won't need to be washed in the washing machine at a high temperature.
