Hello Friends, how are you doing? I hope that wherever you are in the world that you are doing ok during the difficult times we have been facing. In the UK we are in our third lockdown and I have found this Winter lockdown to be difficult if I am honest. But I have tried to stay as positive as I can and sewing has really helped me to do that. I have just let myself make whatever I feel like and that has been really freeing and enjoyable.
embroidered forget me nots
Over the last 12 months, I have really learnt how important sewing is to my mental health and well-being. If I haven't managed to fit a bit of stitching into my day, I don't feel as calm, relaxed and happy. Stitching allows me to forget about any worries and gives me something positive to focus on. This week on my Youtube channel, I shared a video about the projects I have been working on during this lockdown and what it is about these projects in particular, that is helping me to cope with lockdown. You can find the video below. I have also linked a video below that I made in September, which describes how slow stitching helps me deal with stress and anxiety. I hope you enjoy watching these videos, thank you so much and take good care of yourself.

I love the way the embroidery appears like a kaleidoscope forming a single image, so clever!
I recently bought some pieces of tana lawn from you, and the attention to detail in the packaging was delightful; it was like receiving a gift! However, the fabroc was even better and I wish I had bought more, particularly of the so ptetty pink and blue spring-like fabric, as I have already used some of it!

Hi Laura, thank you so much for leaving such a lovely comment about my embroidery and my shop, so kind of you to support me, thank you. Liberty fabrics are just so lovely aren’t they. If you want more of the pink and blue (I think I know which print you mean, it’s called swirling petals) I have a bit more of that, so you can always send me an email about it. Thank you, enjoy your stitching time 😊

To Ms. Emma Jones at www.vintagesewingbox.co.uk, I recently learned about your website from my lady that cares for me daily. I went online and learned some ideas of the tools to use for making hexagons.
I ordered 3/4" and 1/2" templates plus pre-cut hexagon papers for those same sizes. i am finding it very relaxing to spend my evenings doing slow-stitching, as you call it. It really does help my mental self.

I have been reading your previous blogs. i have enjoyed reading them, plus quite a few tips for success with Hexagon making. I will be ordering from you in the near future you sound like a lovely person and you are a great teacher. Your tutorials are so wonderful.. Please take care and be kind to yourself.

Sincerely,
Betty Jo Burgess

P.S. I am so looking forward to your next blog entry. Thank you, Emma

Me again Emma! Just to say that this afternoon I followed your instructions to make the hexagon needlecase. Turned out very pretty. Thank you for the easy to follow video instructions and the download. I think I shall make the pincushion next. Thank goodness it is the Easter hols and I can put off marking for a few more days (as well as housework~it's not going anywhere after all, is it?) and indulge myself.

Hi Laura, sorry for my late reply, I wish my website would notify me of comments here but it doesn't. It is lovely to hear you were pleased with the results of making the needle case. I hope you managed to have lots of relaxation time during the Easter hols. I used to take my marking into the garden on sunny days to make it a little bit nicer to do. Take care

April 13, 2021; Hello Emma, I am sending my deepest sympathies to you, your family, your country, and to HER MAJESTY, QUEEN ELISABETH II at hearing only last evening on PBS-PUBLIC BROADCASTING SYSTEM- that the DUKE OF EDINBURGH/PRINCE PHILLIP had passed away last FRIDAY(I believe).

I always loved how PRINCE PHILLIP brought such sweet full-facial glows to QUEEN ELISABETH II whenever they were together. Even after 70+ years of marriage, even more years together as a couple, their long-standing love, adoration, and respect for each other shined brightly for all the world to see. What an example for the rest of the world to take a lesson, or 2, from.

With sadness, from Cody, Wyoming, UNITED STATES of AMERICA;
